Literature Text

A dazzling light appeared ‘fore me
Transforming night to break of day
All shadows died before that light
Transmuting chaos into peace
All wondered innocence would stay
As Hatred disappeared from sight

What glory could have brought this sight?
Collapsing walls that crippled me
I never thought I’d see the day
Where Hatred left but Love would stay
A life of blissful calming peace
Awaits a messenger of Light.

But how does one create such light?
Rescind the darkness from your sight
So one can walk in measured peace
Each question beat a path through me
Will midnight win? Or will the day?
Fight stubbornly to humbly stay?

I stand for love and here I stay
Bathed in incandescent light
The trials that greet my soul each day
Shall never be erased from sight
For they have built a better me
That’s not afraid to live in peace

But will the world pursue such peace?
Let worries fade where joy should stay
This is the task they’ve given me
To be the hope, the shining light
So desperate people see a sight
That makes them want to live each day

Breathe laughter into every day
Each moment could be one of peace
It’s up to you to use your sight
Feel the warmth of love and light
Create a world where we would stay
Come forth and stand, hold hands with me.

Now world of light and beauty stay
Sight all integrity in me
Bring forth the peace of every day

Dedicated to the beautiful =Dorkmaestro whose love made want to finish this before she woke.

I woke up at 2am and heard the first line in my head. I'd set up the rhyme scheme already and from then it was done within about 50 mins. Not bad for 39 lines. It's long but I enjoyed writing this. Good luck everyone and Merry Christmas.

Love Sam
